The menopause frequently causes changes with mental health

Menopause is a hormonal change which occurs in all women.

The severity of symptoms and impact on a woman's life varies from person to person however on average 69% of women who go through menopause suffer with anxiety or depression symptoms.

Only 15% of women going through menopause take HRT.

There is a lot of support networks available for women going through this whether or not you choose to have treatment.

Do speak to your GP about options to treat your mood and mental health support in the context of menopause symptoms especially if you are female, aged 40-65 and are unsure if this might be relevant to you.

  • Replace existing stigma and social taboo with the view that menopause is part of our health journey. And, handled well, it can be the beginning of a positive new chapter in our lives.
