Mental Health Access Hubs for Coventry and Warwickshire

Locality-based Mental Health Access Hubs (MHAH) are responsible for clinically triaging all patients and dealing with those in urgent need of care.

Referrals will continue to come into the Hubs directly through the normal routes. 

Where are these Hubs?

There are three Mental Health Access Hubs located across Coventry and Warwickshire, and each Hub will be operational 24/7 and 365 days a year at:

  • Caludon Centre (Coventry)
  • St Michael's Hospital, Warwick (South Warwickshire)
  • Manor site, Nuneaton (North Warwickshire and Rugby)

How to refer? 
Patients are referred into mental health services by calling:

Freephone 08081 966798 – Press 1 for adult mental health and Press 2 for the children and young people's mental health service. Operational 24/7 365 days per year

What happens when a patient is referred into mental health services?

  • The Mental Health Access Hubs will clinically triage all referrals at a local level
  • Following triage, if they are then assessed to be in need an urgent assessment, the Hub will arrange to see them within 4 or 24 hours depending on how they are feeling
  • Patients who are not urgent but need our mental health support will be onward referred to the right team

Wellbeing for Warwickshire

The Wellbeing for Warwickshire helpline provides 24/7 confidential emotional support for residents across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Our phone line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Our friendly and compassionate helpline team are trained and ready to help you if you are:

  • feeling low, anxious or stressed
  • in emotional distress with nowhere else to turn
  • caring for another, but find it difficult to cope
  • looking for information or advice – wondering how to get support with your mental wellbeing
  • socially isolated and want to connect with others

Coventry Safe Haven (Mental Health Matters)

Are you feeling distressed, frightened, overwhelmed, or that things are too much for you? Don't know where to turn to get mental health support? Are your usual sources of support closed?

The MHM Coventry Safe Haven offers a welcoming, safe, comfortable, non-judgmental and non-clinical environment. The emphasis is on reducing immediate distress, and supporting visitors to access services and opportunities available to them in the wider community. We provide out of hours mental health support to any residents of Coventry and surrounding areas, aged 18 or over, including healthcare professionals.

You can come in to access one-to-one emotional support from trained mental health professionals. We also offer help in creating staying well and crisis plans, and support visitors to access other services and organisations that may be useful to them. Users of the Coventry Safe Haven have access to a 24-hour telephone emotional support line staffed by trained counsellors.

No appointment or referral needed. Carers and family welcome. Refreshments available.
